In 2016, collectibles saw a shift in demographic. While previously focused on children, retailers saw collectible interests evolving to include mature gamers. There was an opportunity in the market, but quality widely ranged from inconsistent to high-priced.

The demand

U&I came to the table with a plan to discern how to meet this growing demand through testing and development of different product offerings. With our merchandising expertise in gaming, we knew we could fill that space with the right assortment.

The solution

After refining the process, U&I bridged the gap between the innovative suppliers that drive the market and the retailers that serve gamers. The category was ultimately expanded as the need for physical product continues to grow among passionate gamers who are eager to celebrate their fandom.
